Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa Üniversitesi Faculty of Theology

Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Islamic Sciences was opened in 2012 and started teaching with 123 students in the same year. Our faculty has 3 departments of Basic Islamic Sciences, Philosophy and Religious Sciences and Islamic History and Arts. The duration of education is five years, including the compulsory preparatory class, and the number of students currently reaches 1400.

Our faculty has taken its place among the leading Faculties of Islamic Sciences in Turkey in a short time. As of today, there are 5 professors, 18 associate professors, 22 Ph. Members (2 of which are foreign nationals), 1 Lecturer, 10 Research Assistants, as well as 1 research assistant assigned with Article 35, and a total of 57 academic staff and 16 administrative staff.

Since its establishment, the Faculty of Islamic Sciences aims to conduct research on theology, to produce knowledge at national and international level, to transfer and share what it produces to the society, to train theologians, religious educators and competent religious officials who will take part in formal and non-formal religious education and training and religious-moral services. In our faculty, which is preferred by students from almost every region of our country, our goal is to educate our students not only in the field of religious sciences but also as individuals who are socially culturally accumulated, sensitive to environmental and social values, self-confident, optimistic, open to development.
