MEMORIZATON OF QUR'AN PROJECT TOGETHER WITH THE UNIVERSITY

Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Department of Qur'anic Reading and Qiraat Science, within the scope of ‘MEMORIZATON OF QUR'AN PROJECT WITH UNIVERSITY’, 43 students in total, both male and female, are receiving memorization training in the 2024-2025 education and training period, and this number is increasing day by day. The project offers the opportunity for memorization education not only to the students of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences but also to the students of other faculties.

The aim of the programme is to ensure that students are not only limited to the faculty curriculum, but also to complete an education such as memorization of Qur'an, which can have a positive impact on their professional lives, until they graduate from the university. The project aims to increase the professional competences of the students and to increase the appointment rates of the students graduating from our university. In addition, it is to help students who study in other faculties and want to train themselves in the memorization of the Holy Qur'an. 

Students who are involved in this project can have a memorization of the Qur'an diploma in addition to their diplomas thanks to the ‘Extracurricular and Social Learning Transcript’ applied at our university. Each 75 pages of the Holy Quran corresponds to 1 semester course. When students complete 8 semesters of lessons, they have completed their memorization of the Holy Qur'an. If the student uploads the document given by Coordinator Assistant Professor Yunus YALÇIN to the ‘scientific activities’ in the social transcript application screen in OBS and has it approved by his / her advisor, it will be processed as an addition to his / her diploma. In the programme held on 24.03.2025, 5 students were awarded the ‘Memorization Achievement Certificate’ by our rector Prof. Dr. Fatih YILMAZ for memorising the first 75 pages. Gifts were presented to all candidates.
