Ten students enrolled in the Islamic Sciences Specialized Academy Program at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, have successfully completed a six-week intensive summer Arabic language program in Jordan.
The program was held at Dar'ul-Elsun Language Institute from June 28 to August 6, 2026. Throughout the program, the students received intensive Arabic language instruction, enhancing their skills in Qirāʾah (reading), Kitābah (writing), Istimāʿ (listening), and Muḥādathah (speaking). At the closing ceremony, participation certificates were presented to the successful students.
In addition to language instruction, the students took part in various cultural and academic excursions designed to introduce them to Jordan's rich historical, religious, and cultural heritage. As part of the program, they visited significant historical and cultural sites, including the Hejaz Railway, the Battle of Mu'tah site, the Dead Sea, the Ancient City of Petra, and Wadi Rum.
The program also included visits to the shrines of the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who were martyred in the Battle of Mu'tah—namely Zayd ibn Harithah, Ja'far ibn Abi Talib, and Abdullah ibn Rawahah—as well as other sites associated with the Companions in the region. These visits aimed to reinforce the students' knowledge and appreciation of Islamic history.
During the six-week program, the students complemented their classroom instruction with daily opportunities to practice Arabic in real-life settings. They also gained valuable experience through exposure to different cultures and participation in an international educational environment.
This international summer program, organized within the framework of the Islamic Sciences Specialized Academy Program, made a significant contribution to the students' Arabic language proficiency while also enriching their academic and professional development.
